Lina Lee, Clinical Counsellor

Lina Lee,

RCC, CCC, MA Counselling Psychology

My personal journey has inspired me to support individuals navigating chronic shame and guilt, relationship difficulties, depression, family trauma, and complex trauma rooted in childhood.

  • Embracing Healing and Resilience

My name is Yoolina Lee (이 유리나), and I was born in South Korea in 1985. I grew up deeply influenced by my grandparents’ stories about their lives during the war. Listening to them helped me understand how trauma, especially from conflict and colonization, can be passed down through generations.

At 15, I moved to Victoria, BC, leaving my family behind for the first time. Since then, Canada has become my home. As a first-generation South Korean immigrant, I deeply relate to the unique challenges that international students and workers face. I understand how hard it can be to adjust to a new culture, miss your family, navigate long-distance or interracial relationships, and carry the emotional weight that can come with immigration. I’m here to support you with warmth and understanding as you move through those experiences.

Just like you, I’m on a journey of personal growth. I continue to learn and evolve through my own counseling and clinical supervision, growing alongside the people I support.

  • I support individuals through deeply personal challenges, including chronic shame and guilt, relationship difficulties, depression, family trauma, and the incarceration of loved ones - struggles I have personally experienced. These lived experiences give me a unique understanding of the emotional complexity behind such hardships.

My own journey with a burn injury, fibromyalgia, panic attacks, mood disorder, and complex PTSD has deepened my appreciation for how closely emotional and physical pain are often connected.

In our work together, I offer a space where you can feel safe, respected, and supported as you move toward healing, self-understanding, and compassion.
