DescEmbracing Healing and Resilience
My Korean name is 이 유리나 (Lee, YooLina). I was born in South Korea in 1985. Growing up, I was profoundly influenced by my grandparents' stories about their experiences during the war. Their narratives helped me understand the lasting impact of intergenerational trauma related to conflict and colonization.
At 15, I took the courageous step of moving to Victoria, BC, leaving my family for the first time. Canada has since become my home. As a first-generation South Korean immigrant, I have a deep connection to the unique challenges faced by international students and workers. I get how tough it can be to adjust to a new place, miss home, manage long-distance relationships, or navigate the complexities of interracial relationships. I’m here to offer warm support and guidance as you work through these experiences and the stress that often comes with immigration.
Like you, I’m committed to personal growth. Through my own counseling and supervision, I continue to learn and evolve alongside you.

I support individuals through deeply personal challenges, including shame, relationship difficulties, depression, family trauma, and the incarceration of loved ones - struggles I’ve personally faced. These personal journeys give me a unique insight into the emotional complexity of such hardships.
My personal history of managing a burn injury, fibromyalgia, panic attacks, a mood disorder, and complex PTSD has deepened my understanding of how emotional and physical pain are often closely linked.
I offer a space where clients can feel safe, respected, and supported as they move toward healing and self-compassion.

“Not why the addiction but why the pain.”
